Christina Beltrum (クリスティーナ ベルトラム?) is the first princess of the Beltrum Kingdom. She is also the older sister of Flora Beltrum.
Appearance[]
Christina is a beautiful girl with straight long violet purple hair down to her waist, her front locks are swiped to the right side, she has a proportionate body although slightly smaller and more slender than her sister, pearl white skin, eyes the same color as her hair with sharp gaze that stop anyone under her gaze.
Personality[]
Christina thought she was a special being when she was young. Born as the first princess of Beltrum Kingdom, and the first in line of the throne. Blessed with the talent of study and magical talent. When she started her lesson, her tutors praises her as a genius. There is no setbacks and she would be called a genius no matter what she's doing. Effort wasn't hard for her and she thought effort was considered naturally for special beings who stands on top of the people. As she makes more effort and show more achievements, her parents will compliment her and her sister will respect her. She was better than others and became increasingly aware that she is more special than others. She thought she was a special being, that there isn't anything she can't do. There isn't anybody who is superior to her. Her ego was so enlarged by thinking like that.[1]
Her encounter with Rio has changed her view. Rio was the first person who stare at her with cold looks, restrained her physical movements and made her afraid of people for the first time since she was born. Nobody has treated her roughly as she was the first princess and because everyone admired Christina. She was disappointed as it hurt her self-esteem. Up until now, she was proud to be special and she realized that she wasn't special but a very unreliable existence. As a result, Christina who grew up, realizes that she is no different from other human beings. She was born given the position of the first princess. It is the position that is special, not herself. It was when she went to the Royal Academy where it became more prominent. She can achieve exceptional results in all areas, but she can only study and be clever. There is no outstanding talent, and she couldn't compare to a true genius, for example she does not rival Celia Claire in the field of magic.[1]
When she saw Rio isolated in the academy, it brought indescribable discomfort as she sees the noble's son boasting about being special beings, it was like looking at her old self. The feeling of shame comes with discomfort. When she sees Flora's sad face, she realize the reality of how powerless she is.[1]
"If there was to be conflict over the man named Haruto Amakawa in the future, they would never be allowed to join in." ― Christina Monologue, Vol 12
Christina has a serious personality, she's strict both to other people and to herself, she was raised as the first in line for the kingdom inheritance, because of that, she put the kingdom interest before everything, even herself, back when they falsely accused Rio, Christina also goes along with her father, because, for the kingdom, the noble are their allies, hence they are more important than the commoner, even if she know this is wrong, she still do it to the point Celia said that she killed her own heart to do that.
Despite this, she really loves her own sister, as long she's safe and happy, it's alright even if it's resulted in some disadvantage to the kingdom.
LN Route[]
Childhood Era[]
Christina is seen in the slums; she demands to accompany Celia and Vanessa, who were looking for an abducted Flora. It is there she meets with Rio for the first time. She is surprised and disgusted by his appearance. She is suspicious of him and tries to force him to reveal what he knows. Rio goes on defense until Celia takes position and asks him nicely what his name is. Rio tells them what he knows: nothing but advises them to change clothes because they stand out way too much and people will be wary of them.
Christina sees Rio the second time, when he has saved Flora from a stranger. She scolded Rio, believing he lied to her. She slapped him one time and tried it twice, but Rio blocks her hand and gives her a cold stare. Finally, Celia and Vanessa arrive. She ordered Flora and Rio to be brought to the royal palace— Flora for cure and Rio for questioning. Rio refuses to comply, but Vanessa tells him it is not a proposition, and he will be released once his innocence is proven.
Academy Era[]
After the "interrogation," Rio's innocence is proven when princess Flora wakes up. Rio is received by king Philip Beltrum and his entire family. Flora is delightful, but princess Christina puts on an angry face. Phillip thanks him for saving Flora and tells him that he wants Rio to be enrolled in the royal academy and he will take care of all the fees. After a brief thinking, Rio accepts.
He is transferred in the same class as princess Christina under Celia's tuition. During all the years in the academy, Christina just ignored Rio and didn't intervene when she saw him bullied by other nobles (specially Alphonse and Stewart). In a few months, Rio proves himself a diligent student; with Celia's help, he learned to read and write until he arrives on top score, equal to princess Christina much to the disgust of the others. Rio is unable to use magic, but he is the best of his class concerning swordsmanship. He beats Charles Arbor a royal guard, with ease, which deeply impressed Alfred.
Soon, Rio and Christina along with Flora are selected for a outdoor drill. They are part of the group with Alphonse and Stewart. Jealous of him Alphonse orders him to take all the luggage, Flora tries to help him, but Christina tells her to not get involved with him. The outdoor drill proves itself to be a trap set by Reiss who informs Alphonse of a "shortcut" to finish the exam quickly. The group found out many monsters on their way principally goblin. One by one the student is hurt. During the panic, one of the student pushes Stewart who pushes princess Flora. She falls from the cliff as Christina screams her name, Rio jumped and saved her by throwing her back on the cliff. He then amortizes his fall with spirit art.
The group is panicked, and Alphonse proposes to frame Rio for the murder attempt on a princess, despite Flora's protest. Reiss summoned a minotaur to finish off the group and all the members fled; Flora was alone with a wounded student. She asked for help, but no one responded. One more time, Rio came to her rescue. He takes a sword and orders Flora to escape with the wounded student. Rio kills the minotaur; wary of his "comrades," he decided to take all his belongings, say farewell to Celia and escape to the Yagumo regions.
In the royal castle, the noble and royal family discuss the matter. All of them decided to design Rio guilty of murder attempt. Only Flora protests, saying she can't oversee injustice. Her father treats her as immature and childish behavior. Christina has suspicion about Alphonse's statement but chooses to remain silent.
Arbor Coup d'etat[]
Proxia empire waging a war against Beltrum, who suffers a crushing defeat. The Arbor faction accuses the royal family of weakness (behind the curtains, the Arbor family made an alliance with the Proxia empire). They take advantage of the situation and seize the royal family and impose their vision. However, king Phillip managed Flora and duke Huguenot escape the capital with the help of earl Claire. Flora brings a sacred stone with her.
Celia Wedding[]
Several years passed since Rio's escape. The Arbor faction has taken control of the royal court. Flora and duke Huguenot's escape raised suspicion in Helmut Arbor's mind. He threatens Laurent Claire of high treason unless his daughter marries his son, Charles as the seventh wife, as a gesture of goodwill. In a difficult position Laurent has no choice but to comply. Celia is in her room, thinking about Rio and sad about her situation but she understands she has no choice like her father. Charles enters in her room, and he believes Celia is eager to marry him. He introduced his wife and let them know more about each other. The first wife makes it clear that she leads and despite Celia's achievement in magic, she is only the seventh wife. Resigned, Celia says she understands. Soon Vanessa arrives and announces Christina's arrival. Celia profits to dismiss Charles's wife and welcome the princess. They have tea time and discuss about the situation. Christina apologizes to Celia, saying because of the royal family's weakness, Celia has to marry such a man as Charles. Celia reassures Christina and tells her she will pray that one day Christina will reunite with her sister. Unconvinced Christina thanks her and the talk ends. During the wedding, Celia is "abducted" by Rio who bypasses the heavy security easily. Celia went missing.
Galarc Ball[]
Galarc kingdom organized a ball to reveal its summoned hero: Sumeragi Satsuki. The Arbor faction decided to attend the party. Helmut sends Beltrum's hero Rui Shigekura with Christina under the "guidance" of his son Charles. There, she has to put an act towards her sister to not raise suspicion in Charles. She reunites with Rio (under disguise) and learns about his achievements specially Flora rescued twice, she lost briefly her composure and ironically remembered Rio did the same thing years ago.
She is present when six persons infiltrate the ball and try to make a ruckus. She is speechless when Rio controls the situation. He stopped the bullet of light with his bare hands and blocked the attack with Rui's help. She assists the ceremony when Rio is given an honorary knight title. She meets with him again when Charlotte invites her for a tea, first she is about to refuse but accepts when she sees Rio's face. Flora is also invited. Around the table are all beautiful princesses and Rio. Christina congratulates Rio for his title and praises him for his fighting skills. He answers that was nothing, Christina asks Vanessa if she could do the same thing but Vanessa says she will not even risk to do it. Flora tells how he saved her; Christina is interested but does not show it. Flora says that she wants to thank him, but Rio says that the answer to this request has not changed since Amande. The tea time is interrupted when Miharu, Satsuki, and Takahisa arrive. Satsuki is very displeased to see Rio surrounded by beautiful princesses. Christina notices that the two of them are quite intimate.
Christina and her group are about to leave Galarc kingdom. Charlotte drags Rio to see them off. Christina pretends there is dust on Rio's clothes; swiftly, she whispers, "thank you for saving Flora" and leaves. Two weeks after the party, Christina feared for her life and decided to escape with count Claire's help. Because of the security in Creia, she has to hide herself in the basement of Claire's mansion. Meanwhile, Rio accompanied Celia to meet her father, and meet the princess again.
Escapades[]
Vanessa and Christina are found out by Rio and Celia. In a panic, Vanessa attacks Rio and Christina fires bullet of light at Rio who stops them with his hand. Christina is dumbfounded and reminds that the honorary knight of Galarc is able of such deed. Rio bind Vanessa and asks Celia to settle the matter. Under disguise, Celia bows before Christina who asks who she is. Celia reveals her identity, the princess is very surprised. Once the situation cools of, Rio apologizes to Vanessa and releases her.
The group has a discussion about each other situation. Being a noble from another country, Rio wants to excuse himself, but Christina said otherwise and asks him to listen to her story. Rio prepares hot beverage while everyone sits down. He comes back with drinks, Celia takes it right away, but Christina is hesitant. Finally, she drinks it, understanding that Celia trusts him a lot.
Christina explains about her escape: the Arbor faction does not need her anymore and was about to dispose of her and she had no other choice but to escape for her life with the help of count Claire's help. She apologizes to Celia for putting such a burden on her family. Celia says that they will do anything for the royal family. Celia thanks her for her fidelity. Then she asked Celia what had happened during her missing time. Celia tells she wanted to flee her noble obligations; Haruto confesses he has abducted her, Celia adds; she asks for it. Christina says she made the good choice. She turns her attention to Haruto and wishes to ask him several questions. He accepts. Christina asks about their relationship and Haruto answers Celia is his benefactor, they knew each other for almost ten years. Haruto reveals Celia's hair is changed by a magical artifact.
Then Haruto asked her why she escaped the castle despite being a princess. Christina explains her father entrusts her the future of the kingdom and Helmut Arbor plans to use Rui Shigekura to obtain the throne. He wants his little daughter (her mother is Phillip's concubine or second wife) to seduce Rui and puts their child on the throne for legitimacy. Christina also explains the difference between Arbor and Huguenot: they are both craving for power, but there is a line Huguenot won't cross and it is to murder the royal family. Rio deduces that Helmut wants the crown; Christina agrees. She then begs for Haruto's help for escape, lowering her head, promising she will give him the greatest reward in her power. After a quick thinking, Haruto confirms what she wants and agrees to help her under certain conditions: first, he will lend them a magical artifact which changes the hair color but won't tell them how to make it. Secondly, Haruto wants guaranties that Celia will not be punished for her escape, will be free to move, and Christina will support her if she wants to return as a noble. Christina is surprised and asks herself if it will suffice. Celia's father arrives in the basement.
Laurent is surprised to see his daughter, but relieved she is safe and sound. He tells Christina the security in the city increases and soon all the gates will be blocked; more and more patrols have been dispatched. Worried Christina asks Haruto if the escape can be done right away; he confirms it. Laurent asks, who is he. Christina answers he is the newly appointed honorary knight of Galarc. Celia's father is surprised because he is very young. Haruto confesses he is also the kidnapper. After establishing the plan, Haruto contacts Aishia; both of them will make some noises at a different location, allowing Christina to reach the gate.
Ashia changes her hair color to impersonate Christina, Haruto bypasses the curfew. Both of them ridicule the patrols. Christina and her group smoothly reach the gate, she doesn't believe it how easy it was. Haruto stays behind to gain some time. He fights the knight patrols and Alfred Emal the king's sword. He dismisses them and joins the group, surprising them. Reiss is on their tail; he summoned minotaurs and unleashed them on Christina. But help comes from Sara, Orphia, and Alma. The three of them defeat the monsters. Reiss fires bullets of light at Christina but Rio intercepts them. Haruto asks him where Lucius is. Reiss answers Lucius is well and has a fair grudge against him. He says that destiny is a strange thing and calls him by his true name, Rio... In front of a dumbfounded Christina. In a difficult situation, Rio told Reiss to get lost before he changed his mind. He looks the ambassador leave, grinning his teeth.
Haruto acts as nothing happened, tells everyone they will go. Christina decided not to react but is at loss of words. Haruto introduces the spirit people to Christina (they are all under disguise with magic artifacts). He says they are all capable warriors. After a few hours of walking, the group takes a break. Sara, Orphia, and Alma take a bath and invite Celia and Christina. The princess is shocked by the genuine girl's fidelity and loyalty towards Haruto. Because she was raised in a greedy and scheming court, she rarely sees people like Sara, Orphia, and Alma. After the bath, the group is back; it's the turn of the boys. Rei (Rui's friend) is happy to bathe in the same water the girls did. Christina asks coldly if it is a proposition to stay here and wait, they're finished. Rei laughs to brush off. Everyone walks to the next city. At the entrance, guards verify their identities, informing them there is an arrest warrant against Christina. They pass the gate, and Rei is disgusted to be treated as a criminal. Haruto retorts that in this world, those with power decide what is right or not. Christina remembers how her kingdom has treated Haruto and clenches her fists. Haruto rents two rooms (one for the boys and one for the girls) and the kitchen. He volunteered to go shopping and the spirit folks and Celia want to go with him. The boys are in their room, leaving Vanessa and Christina in the girl's room.
Vanessa calls Christina and asked her what she thinks about Sara, Orphia and Alma. Christina answers vaguely. Vanessa insists and notices they lack capable people, and four enchanted weapon-wielders are invaluable assets. Christina says she will think about it. Vanessa sighs and Christina asks what. The female knight points the princess is hesitant about Haruto because Reiss calls him Rio, a former classmate who left a deep impression on the princess. Christina is surprised Vanessa remembered Rio. Vanessa suggests using Celia as a negotiator for Haruto's help. Right away, Christina refuses, saying by using Celia that way, it will anger Haruto and sever their relationship, which is at best zero or at worst in negative. Christina thinks about her own situation— ironically, the boy who was bullied reveals himself more trustworthy and capable than any other noble from the royal academy back then. She states that Rio was already skilled in school day but her kingdom and she let him go, putting a false charge on him. The least she can do to atone her, and her kingdom's fault is to not rely on him too much. Vanessa guessed she was right that Haruto is Rio; Christina says the possibility is high. She forbade Vanessa to act on her own or to bring the subject. The knight agrees but insists that for the sake of future, a pass on Haruto and his group must be made. Christina makes a vague answer. Haruto and the girls come back, and the talk is over.
Haruto, Orphia, and Celia made the dinner, and all the group was deeply impressed, comparing it with a professional meal. Everyone is hungry and began to eat. Rei asks how Haruto can cook such japanese like meal. He lies and tells him it's thanks to Miharu. Christina asks if Rei can cook, but he can't; his specialty is eating. Dinner over all went to sleep. The next day, the group leaves the inn and prepares to depart from the city. They travel to the next town, where they learn more about the arrest warrant. The description of the wanted is vague: does not nominate neither Christina nor Vanessa and, surprise to them, there is also a wanted poster for Sara's group. After passing the gate, they are stopped by adventurers hired by Reiss. The guy's demand to check their identities because the group is wearing hoods and their number matches the wanted. Haruto says they have no authority to ask such thing, but they will comply. All members are on a disguise, which changes color of hair; the adventurers are shocked by the girl's beauty but have to admit they don't correspond to the wanted notice. Haruto and company looked for a inn for the night.
In another, the adventurer discus about earlier. Many of them think that Haruto didn't talk to them with enough respect. They plan to attack Haruto and "have fun with the girls." Next morning the company is leaving, on the road they are intercepted by the adventurer who told Haruto to leave the girls to them. He refuses and prepares to fight. Soon enough, the adventurer found out they are no match against Haruto who interrogates them. They confess they have been hired by a strange guy. He gave them quite a sum in advance and promised more once the work was done. Haruto understands quickly Reiss is behind this. He incapacitated the adventurer and told them to get lost.
Reiss is flying and tailing the group. Before that, he told the "heavenly lions" about Haruto's plan: reach Garlarc's border and ask help from Liselotte. He sent the mercenaries beyond to intercept Christina while he was occupying Haruto. The plan is a success: Haruto engages the fight against him and the girls run. Christina is stopped by the Heavenly Lions, but the spirit folks intercept them and succeed to slow them. But soon, Orphia is informed by her spirit, Ariel, there's a large army deployed at the borders and they must inform Haruto. Finally, the group is in front of the army: 5000 soldiers, among them knight, enchanted weapon-wielder, commanded by Charles Arbor himself and accompanied by the king's sword Alfred Emal (Vanessa's older brother) and Beltrum hero Rui Shigekura.
Alma and Sara occupy the enchanted sword-wielder, Orphia, Celia, Vanessa take care of Alfred but he is too strong. Celia is slapped by Charles and Orphia is knocked out by Alfred; same with Vanessa. Christina is in a desperate situation, but soon several knights spotted something in the sky. Someone is flying in their direction with a tremendous speed. Alfred and Rui understood quickly that it was Haruto. Charles orders the mages to stop him, but it is useless. Haruto abruptly lands and sends several knights flying. Alfred commands Charles to flee because they are no match for him. Charles reluctantly obeys. Haruto stands beside Christina and asks her if they are alive. She tells him they are just unconscious, unable to withstand the pressure coming from Haruto. He asks Charles if he did it; the late denies it, pointing Alfred. But Haruto guessed he ordered it and prepared to fight.
Alfred knows he is no rival against Haruto and tries to gain some time. After an exchange of strikes, the battle goes on aerial. Christina is staring with daze, the fight clearly choked by Haruto's strength. He descends and clashes with the king's sword. The shock wave nearly blew away Christina and the girls. Alfred is unconscious and only Haruto stands. The princess is dumbfounded— she always believes Alfred was the strongest knight. This is not over. Haruto uses wind spirit art and rushes towards Rui, who has no time to prepare. Soon he is hit in the plexus. He smiled and told Haruto he was incredible. Haruto asks Sara to take care of the rest while he arrests Charles. He flies towards the army and lands nearby. Having seen the king's sword and the hero defeated, the moral of the army is crushed. While he is advancing into their formation, all soldiers are moving aside to let him pass, despite Charles's order to stop him. Finally, Haruto grabs Charles and drags him near Christina. The princess reflects on the past: she was never special, she only worked hard to obtain results, her position is special, but her as person is very unreliable. On the other side, she thinks Haruto is special: he possesses the will and power to stand above others. She wishes he could lend her his power for her country, but it is too late. She thinks that soon all countries will make a move to gain Haruto Amakawa's favor. The Beltrum kingdom cannot participate; it is their punishment for their sin.
Haruto and Sara put magic collars on Charles and Alfred. He gave Alfred's sword to Vanessa and checked Orphia's status. Christina cured Celia's cheeks, which were red because of the slap. Rui asks what about him, Christina explains they can arrest him, but if he is willing to follow her, it would be different. Rui wants to return to Celia because his girlfriend is there. The hero reconciles with his friends. He promises Alfred and Charles to report to the royal capital and there will be no consequences for the defeat. Rui also thanks Haruto to remind him he is not infallible. They part ways, promising to help each other in the future. Haruto carries Orphia while Sara and Alma tease her. The group reached the fortress at Galarc's borders. The guards stop them. Haruto declines his identity and shows them his insignia bestowed by the François; he asks to speak to the one in charge. The guard are surprised because the honorary knight rank equals to an earl rank, they apologize. Soon the main gate opened: Liselotte, Flora, duke Huguenot, Hiroaki, and Roana were there, surprising Haruto.
Troublesome Hero[]
The siblings have a tearful reunion. Liselotte asks them to enter before the explanation. Inside, they all sat and began to tell what transpired. Liselotte was mobilized to investigate the deployment of the large Beltrum army at the border. Huguenot's group was in Amande to visit her (in fact, at Hiroaki's demand, he wanted Liselotte asks him to marry him). Liselotte agrees that they can follow her, on condition they will return immediately to Amande once the matter is settled.
It is Christina's turn. Celia reveals her identity, shocking everyone (Charles and Alfred were in jail); she tells she flees from the wedding on her own will. Liselotte was present and thought only Haruto could bypass the security; he confirms he was the kidnapper. Christina adds that she commands the act to reduce the Arbor faction's power. Huguenot asks Celia if she was with Haruto all the time. Haruto confirms it she was also there during Amande's raid She explains after the ball, she decided to escape the royal castle, fearing for her life. She meets with Haruto and Celia, who wanted to see her father. Haruto and his group help them to reach Galarc by lending them magic artifacts to change the color of their hair. Flora, determined to verify if Haruto is Rio, asks if he is wearing the same artifact. Christina scolded her sister and apologized to Haruto. Hiroaki is very interested in the spirit folks, finding them totally to his liking. Haruto introduces the girls and tells they are all capable warriors and enchanted weapons-wielders. Huguenot is deeply impressed and guessed that even Alfred could not stand so many. Sara tells him it is not true: Orphia, Alma and she were busy with others enchanted weapon-wielders. It is Haruto alone who defeats Alfred. Christina confirms it, adding Haruto also defeats Rui Shigekura in the process, then the army of 5000 soldiers surrenders. The news shock everyone specially Liselotte and Huguenot. Hiroaki tries to reduce Haruto's achievement by telling the army had commanders, etc. Liselotte begins to be sick of his child's play and ends the conversation.
They decide between rooms: Flora wants to be with her sister Roana and Huguenot want a room near the princesses, same as Hiroaki. The spirit folks will share a room near Haruto. Liselotte asks Haruto of his time because she wishes to discuss with him. Hiroaki tries to make a pass on Sara, Orphia, and Alma by telling he is free and bored. But the girls don't understand the meaning and don't care about heroes. They ask to be guided to their room and tell Haruto to come once he is over. After Hiroaki's pathetic failure, he invited Flora and Christina for a tea. Christina says first she has something to discuss with duke Huguenot. Hiroaki is displeased.
Christina and Huguenot are in a room. He thinks Christina is harder to handle than her sister, but she has her own merit. He praises Christina for Alfred and Charles's capture. Christina answers him; Haruto was the one who captured them. Huguenot insists it was her who obtained his cooperation. Christina it is now over, Haruto and his group won't help them anymore. Huguenot tries to verify about Haruto's relationship with Celia. Christina tells him Haruto is Celia's benefactor, even though the role is unversed now. She forbade Huguenot to make a move using Celia to obtain Haruto. She reminds him Haruto is able to withstand an army of 5000, defeat the king's sword, and a hero at the same time. If Restoration makes a stupid move, Haruto will not hesitate to destroy them. She declared Celia under her direct protection and will be merciless in her judgment against anyone who hurt her. Huguenot jokes about giving her patronage. Christina says obviously yes: Celia is essential as magic genius of Beltrum and point of contact with Haruto. The princess orders Huguenot to keep the other nobles, who will try to make a move on Haruto, in check with absolute priority. Huguenot insists it is necessary to obtain his help at least for emergency. Christina agrees but they have to be prudent, she thinks it is ironical: It was his fault and his son, if Haruto had to flee from Beltrum. and now he insists Haruto had to stay.
After she learned from her sister that Hiroaki, out of jealousy, challenged Haruto for a duel. Haruto agrees only if they get Christina's permission. She is very sick of Hiroaki's behavior. In the evening, she summoned Haruto. Flora is with her; she asks Haruto if he agrees to the duel by obligation. Haruto denies it, and if it disturbs her, he will withdraw. Christina says she wants the exact opposite; she notices Hiroaki is quite arrogant, and she needs to crush his pride. She tells that in an actual situation, Haruto is way stronger than Hiroaki. She apologizes to put such a burden on his shoulders, but Haruto accepts.
Next day it is duel time. Aria serves as a referee. All the big shots are there to witness the fight, Hiroaki is satisfied. Aria tells them the rule, Hiroaki wants to add one: if Haruto senses danger he can flee, but it will be his defeat. Haruto sternly agrees. The duel begins, Hiroaki summoned the power of his divine arm, the Yamata no Orochi but Haruto's only concern is to know why it has only five heads. The hero unleashes his water dragons in a large-scale forward attack, but Haruto dodges each attack without problem, in the process he even closes the range between him and Hiroaki despite Flora's worries. Haruto begins to teach Hiroaki some lesson about swordsmanship: large scale attack are maybe powerful but reduce the vision. The hero is angry and charges without thinking, trying to slice Haruto who avoid it with minimum movement. Haruto finds the fight kind of boring and advise Hiroaki to not rely too much on his enchanted body and to put magic in his sword. Hiroaki gets more pissed and asks if he is criticizing his swordsmanship, Haruto says what he is doing is simply just swinging his sword hoping to cut something and that is not swordsmanship. Hiroaki begins unconsciously to follow Haruto's advise. The audience is impressed but for Sara, Alma, and Orphia, the outcome is very clear. Liselotte is surprised, Hiroaki is not strong enough by a large margin, she doesn't understand why Haruto makes the fight longer than needed. She turns to Christina and asks for herself if there is some kind of arrangement between Haruto and the princess. Huguenot remarks Hiroaki is improving, but Sara tells him it is Haruto who improved him. While Huguenot is asking why he does that, Christina says that he is willing to improve the Hero he is more than welcome to do it.
The duel continues; Hiroaki, despite giving his all, does not succeed to touch Haruto. He loses his nerves and tries to take away to launch his long-range attack. Haruto provokes him, saying he accepted the duel for the hero may test his strength. He adds that if the hero is restraining himself, it is not needed. Finally, Hiroaki launches his water dragons and Haruto finds the hero bothersome. He decides to finish the fight. He dodges the dragon heads swiftly, and quickly stands behind Hiroaki, putting his sword near his neck. Aria announces Haruto as the winner. Hiroaki unable to withstand his defeat and lose control of his magic: two dragon heads run towards the audience in panic. Haruto tries to make Hiroaki to react before giving-up on him and rushing himself to the audience. He destroys a head and Orphia the other one, preventing a disaster. Christina takes advantage of the hero's defeat to put some limits to his reckless actions.
The princess awards Haruto with a mansion in Rodania (in the noble district) for his achievements. Next morning, she is accompanied by Marquis Rodan and Flora to deliver the house to Haruto and Celia. He does not intend to live in it and suggests Celia to use it free of charge during her stay in Rodania. In Christina's office, Haruto tells the princess he has to go to north to east to gather information on Lucius (in Proxia empire). While he infiltrates the imperial palace, intruders send by Reiss sneak into Rodania; they stabbed Vanessa in the stomach and took Christina as hostage to control Flora. They use a strange crystal to teleport.
Lost in Palladia[]
The siblings are transferred in Palladia kingdom in an empty tent. The princesses get out and they run towards a forest. Christina and Flora don't know where they are, remembering her travel with Haruto; she has the idea to climb a tree in high height to find out where they can go. Flora volunteered and while she was climbing, Christina thought how extraordinary Haruto was: during their travel. His sense of organization allows them to never sleep outside and eat in a decent manner. Flora reached the goal and announced that there seemed to be a small village near their position. Flora got down, but she was bitten by a venomous spider. At first, she felt nothing, but her state became worse and worse, with fever and extreme exhaustion. Lucius caught them and brought them back under the tent.
Lucius and Duran, first prince of Palladia kingdom, have a discussion. Duran proposes to heal Flora in exchange of Christina's virginity. She blushes and insults him of pervert. Duran says it was a joke and he will never touch a woman as sweaty and dirty as her. The sibling keeps their dignity as nobles and don't beg for their life. It is at the right moment the door opens entering... Haruto who was set up by Nidol. All of them are very surprised, but straight away, Lucius takes the two princesses as hostages. He tells Haruto they will fight, but not in there and orders to follow him outside. Once in the battle place, Lucius mocked Haruto and told Flora and Christina everything about Rio: how he was their former comrade, how the Beltrum kingdom force him to exile, and finally how he killed his parents, adding his mother's lineage (royal Karasuki kingdom). Christina screams that she doesn't care about this mistake, that she has sacrificed him because noble families are more important than an orphaned boy. By saying this she hopes to anger Haruto who won't hesitate to sacrifice her but save her sister. Haruto sees through the act. Lucius is pissed off, failing to anger Haruto. He suggests once he half kill him, he will have some fun with his friend in front of him. This time, Haruto stares at Lucius with anger and draws his sword. The fight begins.
They exchange some strikes. Lucius finds out Haruto is way stronger than he expected. He can't break his defenses. He decides quickly to use his new powers; his right arm is kind of mechanical and his right eyes allows him short teleportation. Haruto responds in consequences. He uses his spiritual arts, making bullets of light in a large scale; his instinct allows him to predict where Lucius will teleport. The late, in a difficult situation, tries to play dirty and goes towards Christina and Flora; Haruto moves quickly to protect them but is hurt in the process, worrying Christina, who screams his name. Finally, Haruto decides to get serious: he builds a shield of earth to protect the hostages and flies in the skies. He made a very large mass of water, several hundred meters and transforms it into a Yamato no Orochi (eight-headed dragon). He attacks Lucius. In the meanwhile, Christina is at a loss of words: she always believed Haruto was unable to use magic, since in the academy era he couldn't make magical contract and now he seems to command the earth and skies at will. She decides to go far away to protect Flora (still poisoned).
Under constant strikes Lucius has to focus more and more on escaping than beating Haruto, he thinks he needs to take the princesses as hostages again. he flies towards them but is intercepted by Haruto who descends upon him at full speed, Haruto plants his sword in Lucius's heart from high grounds impaling him on the soil. He then burns his body to ashes and dismantles the Yamata no Orochi; a rainbow appears in the process. Haruto gets his revenge and meets Christina.
The aftermath and nursing the princesses[]
Haruto reunites with Christina and asks about Flora's condition; the girl has a fever, and she is still unconscious. Haruto takes a potion from the space-time cache and gives it to Christina, explaining what it is. He sees Christina walking with bare feet on the ground and she has scrapes on it. Christina tries to hide it and says it is nothing, but Haruto gives her another potion and orders her to stay behind him because prince Duran is approaching. Haruto stands in front of him.
Duran raises his hands and tells he has no intentions to fight; he only helps Lucius because the mercenary promises to be given Flora. He added they both were comrades-in-arms and like tyranny, but his tastes were not as bad as Lucius. Now he is not interested in the princesses anymore; he wants Haruto to work for the Palladia kingdom because his country is small and needs strong people to keep large countries at bay. He promises to give Haruto anything he wants in exchange, money, title and women. Haruto refuses without hesitation but wants to make a deal with him. He will repair the damages of the fight, give him Lucius's sword, and swear not to tell he was involved in the kidnapping of the princesses. Christina agrees. Duran understands quickly he will not have better condition and agrees. He takes Lucius's sword and leaves before Haruto changes his mind.
It is over: Haruto plants his sword on the ground and uses earth-spiritual art to repair the fight place, leaving Christina dumbfounded. Haruto tells her they need to find a place to rest and Flora to recover. Christina sees Haruto's wound and wants to heal them, but he refuses because the first aid was already applied during the talk with Duran. Christina insisted, almost begging him to let her cure him. Haruto gave up. He explains that they will fly and find a place; he will carry Flora in his arms and asks Christina to grab his back. Christina, remembering Duran saying she was sweaty and dirty, hesitates. Haruto believes it was impolite from him to ask such thing to a young lady and apologizes for his rudeness, but Christina confesses the real reason: Haruto denies it and he himself is covered in his own blood. Reassured, Christina complies, and grabs Haruto's back and they go, during the fly she uses heal on his wounds.
They arrive on a rocky area; Haruto puts Flora down and prepares the soil to receive the rock house. After installing it, Christina is dumbfounded again. They enter the house, Haruto puts Flora on the sofa and goes looking for something to drink. He comes back with cold tea and gives it to Christina, who makes her sister drink. She notices the potion is very effective and asks how much time it will take Flora to recover; Haruto answers a few days. He tells her they will wait until Flora is on her feet again and he will guide them to Rodania. Christina asks if he will really do that. Haruto is surprised. She continues saying Haruto should hate Beltrum and all its people, especially the royal family, for his exile. Haruto sensing the mood becoming awkward, teasing her; he asked if she is talking about the slaps in the slums. Reminding that Christina blushes and answered it is not only that he saved Flora, but in return they did nothing when he was bullied in the academy. Moreover, the kingdom put a false charge on him. Haruto affirms he does not care about that anymore. Flora heard the conversation and asked her sister if she really slapped Haruto, embarrassed; Christina confirms it and tells it was because she was so stupid in the past. Haruto says he understands he was a dirty, slum boy who was carrying Flora on his shoulders; Christina denies it and affirms it was her who was dirty and pretty dumb. Finally, Haruto tells the princesses he will respond to any questions they have for him, but for now they all are dirty and need to wash. He proposes a bath, Christina and Flora agree and thanked him.
Haruto shows them the bathroom; Christina and Flora are impressed, because it is very large and can contain space for ten persons. Haruto explains to them how to use the magical artifact to produce warm water and the soaps. He tells Flora it will be better for her not to use the bath due to her condition. Flora is very disappointed and Christina, out of solidarity, decides she will not use it as well. Haruto says to take their time, he needs to get towels for them. The princesses go to the changing room and begin to remove their clothes. Flora asks why Haruto has a house in the Palladia kingdom; Christina doesn't know. She remarks, Flora is very happy. Flora says never she imagine that someday she will be able to take a bath in Haruto's bath. Christina smiles and remembers Duran's word again and asks her sister if they smell. She puts her nose on Flora's neck and sees Haruto coming with the towels; she screams his name, embarrassed. Haruto laughs and tells them it is fine, and he understands the siblings ask what, Haruto can tell the sister are very close, Christina and Flora blushed.
It is bath time; Christina is washing herself and tells Flora to stop smelling the soap and hurry up if she doesn't want to catch a cold. Flora observes the bathtub and says it will very bad if Christina does not use it; she denies it, but Flora insists. Christina plunges herself in the bathtub, Flora asks her how it is. Christina answers it is very comfortable. While she is going out, she feels dizziness. Flora panicked, put a towel around her and ran towards Haruto who is preparing dinner. He got stiff when he saw a half-naked princess running. Embarrassed, Flora explains what happened, Haruto from the changing room gives Christina instruction to get better, problem solved. The three of them have dinner, Flora is impressed by Haruto's cooking skill and Christina apologizes for the trouble. After that, they go to sleep.
In the morning, the sisters wake up. They look for Haruto but he is not inside. They go outside and remark Haruto is training with his sword, he removed his necklace which changes his hair color. The sisters watch with daze, Haruto takes notice and greets them. Being stared, Haruto asks them if he has something on his face. The sister says that he waves a different aura with his black hair, Haruto laughs and tells he does not need to wear his necklace in Palladia kingdom. Christina praises Haruto's movement with his sword, he says it is just his daily training. Flora remembered the academy era when she saw Haruto train behind the library and at her surprise, she finds out Christina was watching as well. Blushing, Christina affirmed Haruto was a genius with a sword and it was impossible not to watch his beautiful swings. Haruto tells them he will prepare breakfast.
As usual, the sister praised the taste of the lunch. Christina tries to make Haruto to react about his situation and he should not be helping Beltrum but Haruto maintains his position: he really doesn't care about it anymore and order the sister to finish their meal, letting out the same smile he gives to Celia, Christina and Flora are out breath. After breakfast, Haruto keeps his promise: he will answer every question the princesses have. First Christina asks about what happened during the outdoor drill, Haruto makes them swear to keep for themselves what he is about to reveal, the sisters agree. Haruto begins explaining what spirit arts are than he tells what happened before Flora's fall: someone pushed Stewart who himself pushed Flora. Haruto jumps from the cliff, catches Flora throws her back and softens his own fall with spirit art. Christina asks if he knows who pushes Stewart, Haruto confirms it but there is no way to prove it. Christina affirms she believes him and never trusts Stewart's version. Flora says she believes him too, she always has. Haruto thanks them and explains them further about spirit arts which are more versatile than magic: he makes a little mass of water, transform it into a dog then a cat which jumps in Christina's hand and then in Flora's. She finds it cute and is disappointed when Haruto unmakes it. Christina reaffirms she trusts Haruto, swears to keep secret about his identity and she will cooperate if he wants to clear his name. Haruto refuses because after all this time he does not see the interest, but he says there is one person who may want some kind of payback. Christina asks if it is Celia, Haruto denies it.
